Top Boko Haram commanders Khaid Malam Ali and Bunu Umar have surrendered to Operation Hadin Kai forces in Borno state’s northeast. They are members of the Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd.
After coordinating a raid at the Boko Haram hideouts in Bula Alhaji Garwaye, on the outskirts of Sambisa forest, close to Bama LGA, on July 5, 2023, it was reported that Ali and his fighters were driven from their positions by the terrorist organisation ISWAP.
The Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) massacred a number of Boko Haram fighters, including their wives and children, according to news reports from earlier this week.
Ali was a commander of the terrorists in Sabil Huda and Njumia, according to sources who spoke with Vanguard on Sunday. He put down his arms out of concern for being killed on the battlefield.
