Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu greet Sheikh Abou at 100

Sheikh Hafeez Abou, executive chairman of the Lagos Central Mosque, has received congratulations from Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, on his 100th birthday.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his media assistant, Mr. Tunde Rahman, Tinubu praised Abou for his unwavering devotion and amazing life of service to God.
He stated: “This is a major milestone. We thank Almighty Allah for granting Baba the special grace of good health and longevity. A true disciple of Allah, Baba has dedicated his life to the propagation of Islam. Even with his advanced age, Baba has provided uncommon leadership to the Islamic ummah in Lagos and beyond, and given inspiration to all of us in the shining examples of his life.
“Baba remains an epitome of decency, humility, honesty, hard work, patience, perseverance, commitment to worthy causes and above all devotion to Islam and Almighty Allah.”
Similarly, on Tuesday, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the chief press secretary for Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, commended the Baba Adinni of Lagos, Abou.
The Sheikh, according to Sanwo-Olu, is the embodiment of honesty, dedication, and service. His decades of pristine service have made him a role model for many Muslims, including clerics and leaders.
He stated: “On behalf of my family and the good people of Lagos State, I heartily congratulate our father, religious leader and elder statesman, Sheikh Abdulhafeez Abou, on the occasion of his centenary birthday.
“Sheikh Abou attaining 100 years is a blessing and favour from the Almighty God, which should not be taken for granted. Our father is worth celebrating for the great role he has been playing in Lagos and Nigeria.
“Our father has lived his life worshipping the Almighty Allah and serving humanity the best way he could as the Baba Adinni of Lagos. We thank God for sparing the life of our father and for enabling him to attain the centenarian age.
“As you celebrate your 100th birthday, it is our prayer that the Almighty God will grant you more grace and strength to continue to contribute your quota to the spread and propagation of Islam in Lagos and Nigeria.”
