Yoruba elders Thursday endorsed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for presidency.
They said that the former governor of Lagos State will make a difference as a leader and that he is eminently suited to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in the election of 2019.
The elders believe that Tinubu has the credentials and history because he was a senator under the Third Republic and twice served as governor of the Centre of Excellence.
The elders, who operate under the auspices of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), declared that Tinubu’s efforts to secure Nigeria’s democracy will be sufficient to secure his win in 2023.
This was announced by the council in a statement following its quarterly meeting in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Francis Akinikawe, the chairman, Chief Clement Fadipe, Aremu Akindele, the national treasurer, and Funmi Jabaru, the national welfare officer, all signed the communiqué.

Festus Keyamo, the minister of state for labor and employment and spokesperson for the APC Campaign Organization, claimed that Tinubu is an easy candidate to sell to the voters because of his attributes and accomplishments.
He characterized the APC nominee as a political and economic trailblazer and a man-builder while speaking on the Arise TV program.
The ‘ROT Like Minds’ political organization performed special prayers for Tinubu’s election victory over the weekend in Lagos.
When he served as governor of Lagos State, Tinubu was recognized by YCE as a destabilized Nigerian who was also a good leader.
