Nigerians both at home and abroad are denouncing the brutal murder of Alika Ogochukwu, a 39-year-old crippled Nigerian, by an Italian.
In a graphic video that is currently going viral on social media, a guy is seen beating a crippled man to death on a busy street while witnesses do nothing to intervene.
In a tweet on Saturday, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) confirmed the occurrence, stating that Ogorchukwu, a “39-year-old Nigerian citizen was beaten to death by an Italian man on Friday, 29th July 2022, in Civitanova Marche city, located in the Province of Macerata, Marche Region of Italy.”
Mfawa Omini Abam, the Nigerian ambassador to Italy, also denounced the heinous murder and expressed sympathy to Mrs. Charity Oriachi, the deceased man’s wife, and his family.
Many Nigerians are perplexed as to why the murder, which took place in broad daylight on a crowded thoroughfare, was tolerated—especially considering the victim’s disability.
