Population Census to be conducted in 2023 following elections – NPC

The country’s subsequent population count will take place after the March 2023 general elections, according to the National Population Commission.

This was said by the NPC Chairman, Alhaji Nasir Kwarra, on Monday when he paid a visit to Chief Emeka Anyaoku, a former secretary-general of the Commonwealth, in Ikoyi.

The nation has been ready for another census since 2016, according to Kwarra, who was joined by a delegation of federal commissioners from the NPC. The next census will use technology, she added.

After the national elections, we made our decision. 

When we performed the most recent trial census, we made sure that all political parties held their primaries in June before conducting our own in July. The results were positive.
