In Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, a police officer was reportedly shot and killed at the location of one of the newer banks on DSP Alamieyeseigha Road. The assailant of the deceased military member stole his service gun. The event happened on Thursday at around 10pm, it was discovered.
Further information revealed that the dead had last week introduced the alleged cop killer to bank personnel as David, one of his kinsmen. Sources claim that the alleged murderer had been residing on the grounds of the bank where the police officer was assigned. They were both eating when the incident took place.
While the policeman left his rifle on the bench and was washing the spoons needed for the meal, the killer picked up the rifle and shot him at close range in the back,” a source said. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre where he was confirmed dead the next day.
The insider claims that the police are already looking into the event and attempting to locate the lost firearm. When contacted, Asinim Butswat, a spokeswoman for the state police command, verified the terrible event. Butswat described what happened as follows: “On December 29, 2022, a policeman named Cpl Bob who was on duty at a bank in Yenagoa went off and was attacked by someone he was talking to outside the banking premises. Investigations into the suspect’s identify have already begun.
