The National Executive Committee, NEC, and caucus meetings for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which were previously scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, have been postponed.
Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s national secretary, announced the postponement on Monday, citing “unforeseen circumstances” as the cause of the change in time.
He noted: “This is to inform all members of the PDP National Caucus and National Executive Committee that the meetings of the two bodies earlier scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, and Thursday, August 11, respectively, have been postponed.
“The postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances. A new date will be announced in due course.
“All inconveniences are deeply regretted.”
After Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, won the party’s presidential primary, the party has been mired in controversy.
There are also rumors that Atiku’s selection of Ifieanyi Okowa as governor of Delta State upset some people.
