When Nigeria’s proposal for a debt-for-climate (DFC) swap pact is widely embraced, the country will benefit from a significant debt relief from some creditors amounting to billions of US dollars, according to Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Even before Osinbajo outlined the possibility of a sizable debt cancellation for African nations, the concept was already getting favorable evaluations from senior American government officials in Washington, D.C.
