Ogun Speaker detained and flown to Abuja for questioning

The Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon., who was detained, was flown by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Hon. The PUNCH says that Olakunle Oluomo was sent to the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja for questioning.
According to reliable sources, the troubled senator is currently traveling to Abuja on a plane after being accused of misappropriating and embezzling money.
On Thursday, our correspondent received confirmation of the situation from a reliable source within the anti-graft organization.
The EFCC detained the Ogun Speaker at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos early on Thursday morning, according to a previous report by The PUNCH.
The source further mentioned that Oluomo had previously ignored invitations from the anti-graft commission.
On Thursday, neither the EFCC National nor South-West spokespersons, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren and Mr. Dele Oyewale, took their calls nor responded to our correspondent’s WhatsApp or text messages.
However, the situation was corroborated by an All Progressives Congress member of the Ogun State House of Assembly who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity.
He stated: “The information you got is correct. Our speaker was arrested by operatives of the EFCC earlier this morning. From what I gathered, he was alleged to have been involved in misappropriation and embezzlement of funds.”
