The Kaduna Command of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) has praised a spiritual exercise against bandit attacks in Kaduna and its surroundings.
Hajiya Hajara Alkali Baba Usman, the wife of the Inspector General of Police, recently gave POWA members instructions to engage in a two-day fast and prayer in order to ask God to stop bandits from attacking the country.
Following this, the wives of the officers began fasting and praying over the ongoing criminal attacks on innocent people, including their husbands, according to a statement released on Friday by DSP Mohammed Jalige, the public relations officer for Kaduna Police Command.
He claimed that the prayer meeting was started because there was no other course of action but to ask Almighty God to apprehend the murderers.
“The religious practice, which was led by the State Chairperson of POWA and wife of the Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command, Alhaja Salimat Tinuke Ayoku, was devoted to bringing peace to Nigeria, owing to the recent unmitigated security challenges,” the statement said.
They prayed for an end to the security issues in Kaduna State and all of Nigeria at the prayer meeting.
