JUST IN: Barambu is named president-elect by the NANS convention committee

The list of winners from the student body elections on Saturday has been made public by the National Association of Nigerian Students’ Convention Planning Committee.
Following the election of two factional presidents on Saturday, the outcomes of the election became disputed.
Usman Barambu has been named the association’s new president, ending the controversy once and for all.
Faruk Lawal, a well-liked challenger, received just eight votes, while Barambu received 292 votes to defeat him.
Jibrin Idris (with four votes) and Nanven Haruna were mentioned as additional presidential candidates in the Monday bulletin of the committee that our correspondent was able to get (two votes).
