The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Tuesday that several duplicate, multiple, and ineligible registrations found during the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) conducted between January 1 and July 31 have been removed from the voter register.
Festus Okoye, National Commissioner of INEC and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, disclosed the information in a statement released yesterday in Abuja. He claimed that the irregularities were found while the voter register was being cleaned up using the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).
