Governor Yahaya Bello purchased and remodeled a complex consisting of a duplex and extended attached Office rooms for the staff of the Special Projects Team in an effort to maintain the drive to combat environmental degradation in Kogi State. This was done in order to improve their performance and efficiency.
One of the rare office buildings in Nigeria that has been recognized by a State Government for environmental management initiatives is the one that has been renovated.
The governor claims that it is the responsibility of his administration to address environmental management issues in the state and enhance the standard of living for the populace.
Speaking through the State Coordinator of NEWMAP in the State, Barrister Ladi Ahmed Jatto, who is now ACRESAL Bello, his government vowed to do everything possible to ensure a strong cooperation with international partners and donor organizations in order to improve the Kogi environment.
He said that the state is aware of the effects on communities caused by the confluence of two of Africa’s largest rivers in Lokoja.

In the Confluence State, Kogi NEWMAP’s initiatives to protect communities from the harmful consequences of environmental degradation have had a significant impact.
