To seek God’s favor as the Election Petition Tribunal considering the party’s petition renders its decision, the All Progressives Congress in Osun State has urged members of the party to begin a seven-day fast and prayer period on Friday.
The petitions brought before the panel by former governor Adeboyega Oyetola and the APC, which contested Senator Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party’s victory in the July 16, 2022 governorship election, have been heard by Justice Tetse Kume’s panel.
Before January is out, the panel is supposed to render its decision.
A statement by the APC Acting State Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, who stated this in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Friday, however, said, “It was necessary for the party to resort to supplications after having effected everything legally allowed at the tribunal for the retrieval of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s stolen mandate in the July 16, 2022 governorship election.”
The Osun APC leader repeatedly emphasized the effectiveness of prayers for achieving perfection and as a strong defense against the powers and principalities of the underworld.
Lawal pleaded with the APC members to take the fasting and prayer session seriously and expressed his conviction that God will fulfill the party members’ combined hopes and prayers.
Additionally, he advised APC members to fast and pray during the suggested time for the continued good health of Oyetola, his deputy, Benedict Alabi, and members of their families.
