A further one billion, four hundred million naira (N1.4 billion) has been redeemed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
On the company’s official Twitter feed, this was revealed. The money was a portion of the monies that some commercial banks “fraudulently” failed to transfer to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) since 2015, the panel claimed.
According to the statement, the funds were sent to the NHIS on August 5, 2022. It further revealed that the Commission had similarly released N1.5 billion to the program on February 10, 2022.
