COMMUNITIES IN ENUGU AND MIYETTI ALLAH
WILL COMBAT INSECURITY

The Eha-Amufu communities in Isiuzo Local Government Area of Enugu State and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria have established a joint task force to provide security in the area in an effort to stop the ongoing killings and destruction of property by killer herdsmen.

Communities in Eha-Amufu, including Mgbuji and Agu-Amede Autonomous Communities, have seen vicious attacks from alleged killer herdsmen, including kidnapping, death, and burning of inhabitants’ property.

In the most recent occurrences, 15 farmers were abducted from their farms in Mgbuji, two people were killed, and three more were abducted in the Agu-Amede Autonomous Communities in July. Additionally, 20 agricultural settlements in the two communities had their properties ransacked and burned.

Following a private meeting at the Government House on Saturday, Mr. Tony Edeh, Chairman of the Eha-Amufu and Fulani Communities Peace and Reconciliation Committee, spoke to the media and announced that the two sides had decided to form a joint taskforce to stop the ongoing attacks.
