Chelsea Sacks Thomas Tuchel as Graham Potter, the manager of Brighton is expected to get club interest

Later on Wednesday, Chelsea is anticipated to ask Brighton for permission to interview with Graham Potter about their open manager position. Chelsea is also eager to chat with unemployed coaches Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane.

Three months after completing his ownership of the club, Todd Boehly fired Tuchel. Boehly is still serving in that capacity despite replacing Roman Abramovich’s era’s director Marina Granovskaia, chairman Bruce Buck, and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech this summer.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea has been thinking about this choice for a while and it is not a reaction to Tuesday’s Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb.
The new ownership has been considering other options because of long-standing worries. To advance Chelsea, they now want a long-term appointment.
With 10 points, Chelsea is sixth in the Premier League.

The club’s statement read: “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.

“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.”
In his 100th and final game as coach, Tuchel admitted he was furious with himself for a “major underperformance” against Dinamo Zagreb. He also said his team lacked grit and desire at the moment.

Chelsea spent a record-breaking £273 million in one window to restructure the team this summer.

Tuchel was speaking immediately following Tuesday’s humiliating loss to Dinamo Zagreb, a team who had only two victories in their previous 33 Champions League contests. The way in which it transpired, however, was more detrimental than the outcome itself.
After Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Southampton, Tuchel had lamented their “soft” defence, but in Croatia, it was evident once more. He referred to his team talk at halftime as “we told them to play tougher.” The message was not received.
Such defensive shortcomings were never going to be put up with for very long. After all, the club spent a total of £172 million on Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Marc Cucarella.
The mistakes Chelsea made at the opposite end of the field, however, may have cost Tuchel more. His assault was similarly strengthened over the summer at great expenditure, just like his defense. However, Tuesday’s game revealed the problems—a lack of compassion and ruthlessness—that have plagued them for so long had simply gotten worse.
The manager and the players must be involved again at some time. Tuchel performed admirably for Chelsea. His legacy will be positive because Porto won the Champions League. But certain issues he didn’t seem to be able to resolve. Same ruthless Chelsea, new owner.
