Buhari’s security guards who were ambushed and killed have been buried

Attah Samuel, a captain, and four other troops from the Presidential Guards Brigade who were slain in an ambush in the Federal Capital Territory by alleged terrorists have been laid to rest.
On July 24, 2022, an attack took place in the Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory. At least two officers and six troops were killed.
The captain and soldiers were buried on Thursday at the Guards Brigade Cemetery in Maitama amid tears, according to a statement by Captain Godfrey Abakpa, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Guards Brigade.
Before the final interment in the cemetery, he claimed that the burial procedure began with a Christian wake and funeral service given in honor of the fallen soldiers at St. John’s Military Church.
It read, “The Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army and the entire Barracks community were today August 10, 2022 thrown into state of mourning as the remains of Samuel and four other soldiers who recently paid the supreme price during a clearance operation in Bwari Area were laid to rest at the Guards Brigade Cemetery, Maitama, Abuja.
“Until their demise, the gallant soldiers were serving with 7 Guards Battalion, Lungi Barracks Maitama and 176 Guards Battalion Gwagwalada in the FCT.
“While reading the funeral oration of the deceased officer and soldiers, the Commanding Officers of 7 Guards Battalion, Lt Col Salim Hassan, and Commanding Officer 176 Guards Battalion, Lt Col Joshuah Adisa, described the late captain and soldiers as thoroughly bred infantrymen who were genuinely committed to their duties in defence of Nigeria and whose contribution and services would be greatly missed.”
