Buhari-era debts are justified – Fashola

According to Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, the Buhari administration has built numerous facilities around the country, which justifies all of its obligations.

This was said by Fashola on Thursday during the 28th National Council of Works meeting’s closing ceremony in Kano.

When compared to what the previous governments had accomplished, he claimed that the ongoing projects around the nation had justified the debts.

“Compared to the N18 billion we met in 2015, our initial budget for 2016 was over N250 billion. 

Even if the price of crude oil was falling, that was a rise of more than 1,000%, nevertheless we did not raise taxes.

The Minister emphasized that the Buhari-led Administration was resolved to finish all current projects before the expiration of its term in May of next year, stating that the Federal Government had been able to provide more than 1,800 kilometers of roads throughout the six geopolitical zones so far.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State stated in his speech that states and the federal highway system needed to work together in order to accomplish the goals.

He applauded President Buhari for launching numerous initiatives in his state.

Infrastructure, the season of completion was the topic of the five-day council conference, which began on Monday and included participants from all 50 states.
