The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 general elections, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said he will engage Biafran agitators and negotiate with them if elected president.
This was said by him on Thursday at the APC presidential campaign rally held at the Pa Oruta Ngele Township Stadium in the state capital of Abakaliki.
He said the APC was the only group capable of ensuring the development and stability of the nation.
He said, “The APC is the only progressive party that can bring progress.” Nothing succeeds like a team that is unbreakable.
“We will move Nigeria forward; we will do the right thing; we will make the south-east of Nigeria the Taiwan of Asia.” It is a matter of interrogating our intellectual capacity, and we have it.
“Transportation is a must for economic revival and progress.” We will embark on a railway line, even though they keep stealing the infrastructure. We will get to the destinations where we can all move the bridge of this country forward, where traders will exchange goods and services for the growth of our economy.
“Our progress, our children’s education, is very important for today and tomorrow, and we are working hard because education is the greatest weapon against poverty.” We are going to educate our children and reform our schools. “We want peace; we will talk to all the agitators; this thing is not done by conflicts.”
He added, “I believe in the entrepreneurial spirit of the Igbo.” I encouraged a lot of Igbo businesses and investments in Lagos and will even do more if I become president.
“If elected, there will be no discrimination; Igbos’ interests will be respected and protected.” “I will also encourage policies to aid commerce and support South-East states to reach their full potential.”
In his remarks, Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi said Tinubu believed in merit and competence and had demonstrated this in his record of service, particularly when he was governor of Lagos.
