442 methamphetamine parcels were found by NDLEA in smoked fish heads

The SAHCO yard of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, in Ikeja, Lagos, has been the site of the discovery of no fewer than 442 packets of crystal methamphetamine hidden in fish heads packed in cartons for export to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The 11.90kg consignment was carried to the SAHCO export shed at the airport on Friday, August 5, according to a statement from Femi Babafemi, Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA. Adekunle Oluwapelumi Paul, 32, of Yagba West LGA, Kogi State, was swiftly detained after it was learned that the seven containers he had offered for export included packages of the hazardous narcotic concealed in the heads of hundreds of smoked catfish. The packages were wrapped in foil paper.
Ajisefini Lateef, the freight agent who presented the cargo for export at the SAHCO shed, was detained. It was stated that the following day, Saturday, August 6, another shipment containing 1.45kg of cannabis that was hidden inside ground melon and crayfish and packed among other food condiments and headed for Dubai, UAE, was also intercepted by NDLEA agents. The agent, who is 39 years old, is from Ogun State’s Abeokuta West LGA.
Anti-narcotic officers at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, according to the agency, have detained Mgbeobuna Victor Eberechukwu, 50, for consuming 77 cocaine pellets.
After arriving from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on an aircraft operated by Ethiopian Airlines, he was detained on Saturday, August 6.
According to the report, the suspect, who is from Idemili South LGA in Anambra State, distributed the 77 wraps of the illegal medication over the course of eight excretions spread over four days.
Saifullahi Sani, Salisu Nafi’u, and Abdulrazaq Mamman, three suspects from Kaduna, were apprehended with 1,112,350 tramadol tablets (225 mg and 100 mg) totaling 38.3 kg on Thursday, August 11. While in Kano, Saratu Abdullahi, 28, a female drug dealer from the state’s Wurno council area, was apprehended at Hotoro with 541 blocks of cannabis totaling 245kg.
