On Monday evening in Port Harcourt, the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, had a private meeting with the Action Alliance’s Hamza Al-Mustapha.
Sanni Abacha, the late former head of state, had Major Al-Mustapha (rtd) as his chief security officer.
The most recent visit comes more than a week after Wike met with 17 PDP governorship aspirants for the general elections in 2023 in Port Harcourt.
As of the time this report was submitted, the agenda for Al Mustapha’s meeting with the governor had not been made public, like many other recent visits by presidential candidates.
After the one-hour long private encounter, a government house source told our correspondent that neither Al Mustapha nor his host talked to reporters.
According to reports, the visit was a continuation of negotiations up to the elections in 2023.
Since the PDP’s presidential primaries, the governor had met with key national officials and presidential contenders from all parties.
The conflict between Wike and Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential nominee, has not yet been resolved.
